- Module 1. Programme Orientation & Professional PreparationWelcome to the International Tropical Ecosystem Restoration & Nature-Based Solutions Field School. This opening module provides the foundation for the entire programme by preparing participants academically, professionally, culturally, and practically for immersive field learning in Tanzania. Participants are introduced to the programme philosophy, expectations, field operations, safety procedures, digital learning systems, and professional competencies while developing a clear understanding of how practical field experience can strengthen future careers in conservation, climate action, sustainability, engineering, environmental management, research, and international development. Rather than focusing solely on administrative orientation, this module emphasizes career readiness, intercultural collaboration, ethical leadership, and the professional behaviours expected in multidisciplinary environmental projects. Participants will also begin building their Professional Development Portfolio, which will be expanded throughout the programme and can be used when applying for internships, postgraduate studies, research opportunities, and employment.
